Our Philosophy when it comes to Competitive Dance…

Take it seriously but not too seriously. The amount of kids that will graduate and continue dancing after HS is SMALL. SO - why not push ourselves to be the best we can be, while still remembering at the end of the day… a convention scholarship or that 1st overall is not going to get us anywhere in the real world. The things we take from competitive dance are LIFE LESSONS. How to demand a room, how to walk and talk with confidence, how to learn to be on a team, how to learn to win and lose with GRACE.

Is competitive dance fun? YES. Is it the end-all-be-all? NO.

At MOVE By Morelli we pride ourselves on our competitive team(s) being the top in the area. We like to think of our teams as CLUBS! Dance parties that are exclusive to those who want to take their dancing to the next level. One team is high energy/intense, and the other is “lounge-y” and laid back - BOTH equally as FUN!

One thing that sets us apart from others (that we’ve been told numerous times) is our overall organization and ability to execute when it comes to the backend stuff. We try our best to be super organized and give parents all their information upfront including financials, events, requirements - EVERYTHING. <<< Nothing to do with dance whatsoever, but arguably the most important.

Audition Questions…

  • Yes! Anyone interested in pursuing competitive dance is welcome to audition.

  • Dancer's audition in the age group based on their age as of January 1st 2025. Each audition will consist of a warm up, jazz technique across the floor, and a center combination. Our Team Director and Studio Owner will be observing the auditions.

  • We don't have required set of skills that dancers must have to be on the team (ie: tumbling, multiple pirouettes, switch leap, etc.) We just ask that dancers are prepared to show off their strengths, and come ready to dance!

  • There will be opportunity for a makeup audition in the form of either a 30 minute private or a video submission. Please indicate in the audition form if you are unavailable for the audition, and our director will work with you to set up a makeup audition.

  • We are committed to creating well rounded, versatile dancers.

    Our team has a strong collective work ethic, but we also create space for individual expression of dance as an art form. We pride ourselves on being the top competitive team in Arvada, while also emphasizing a focus on community, love and support within our team.

  • Fees can vary greatly from dancer to dancer. Please email our director at theclub@movebymorelli.com for a more detailed breakdown of fees for the club.
