We’ve added ACRO!

Our MoVeRs deserve the best, so we’ve decided to add a different genre this year… ACRO! Miss Jordan HAS TAKEN the extra step of becoming certified through “Acrobatic Arts”, to ensure our dancers are learning in an effective and safe way - designed specifically for dancers!

All about “Acrobatic Arts” 🤸‍♀️

Acrobatic Arts curriculum is developed with input and research from professionals and industry experts. This program is based on effective and safe progressions in the five divisions of AcroDance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling. Dancers who train through Acrobatic Arts are less likely to have accidents and develop chronic injuries throughout their dance career, are stronger and more flexible, and have more consistency and confidence in their skills.

Teachers who go through Acrobatic Arts training are taught everything they need to know to help students with the proper building blocks to progress quickly and safely. The training is extensive and hands-on so that teachers feel knowledgeable, confident and inspired.

FAQ -

"What's the difference between Acro for Dancers and Gymnastics?"

Here are some of the biggest differences between Acro for Dancers and Gymnastics:

1. Training Outcomes

Acro for Dancers trains dancers to be able to seamlessly tie in skills with choreography for aesthetic and expression purposes. Gymnastics trains their athletes to compete for the highest score in their specific event (ex: floor, beam, bars, etc).

2. Equipment

Acro for Dancers requires dancers to learn how to land softly and safely due to harder flooring. Gymnastics has spring floors which allows for more high impact tumbling.

3. Technical/Teaching Expectations

Acrobatic Arts teachers teach different techniques but similar looking skills to Gymnastics. Acro for Dancers focuses on incorporating skills into stage performances whereas for Gymnastics, the skill is the main focus.

"What's different about this program vs other Acro classes?"

The Acrobatic Arts Curriculum focuses on safely training dancers through progressions (breaking down each skill to its individual pieces and working to master all parts), so that your dancer can execute their skills safely, consistently and confidently! Acro for Dancers is based on each individual dancer, taking the time to make sure they are ready for the next piece, never pushing a skill before they are ready.
